About Us

aboutus

K Plus, Inc. was established in 1993 by Peter Lang to meet the fiduciary and communication needs of 401(k) sponsors. Our mission is to help sponsors select the best providers and funds for their 401(k) plans and to educate participants on how to get the most from their 401(k) plans.

The K Plus advantage is based on honesty, integrity and independence. We are consultants, not salesmen. While we work with banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, mutual funds and third party administrators, we represent you, not them. We believe in complete disclosure and no surprises. All provider fees and contractual provisions are explained and our fees are fully transparent.

K Plus recognizes that there are three types of 401(k) participants. One group wants to learn about investments, one group wants to follow sample portfolios, and the last group is content to take a hands off approach to their investing. For the first group, K Plus develops dynamic investment education seminars that are customized for each plan, a customized quarterly newsletter and quarterly hypothetical investment charts. For the second group, K Plus develops model asset allocation charts which enable participants to choose the portfolio that suits their needs. For the last group, K Plus makes sure your plan has either solid target retirement funds, or a strong qualified default investment option (QDIA). Our most popular service is our 401(k) coaching sessions which are half hour one-on-one meetings with participants. These mini financial planning sessions enable participants to better understand their retirement plan and the investments offered. Participants can also learn about no-load funds for IRAs and variable annuities. Unlike most registered investment advisors (RIA), we are not salespeople and do not collect any commissions or fees on any transactions made as a result of these sessions.

Prior to establishing K Plus, Peter spent twenty-three years with the pension departments of Prudential and CIGNA. While at CIGNA Peter developed his own communication material and conducted over 3,000 401(k) and investment education meetings in 28 states. He established 401(k) plans for companies such as Gibson Greeting Card, Proctor Silex, Weichert Realtors, and Simmons Mattress Co.

In 2008 Terrence Lang, CFP, joined K Plus as an Account Manager. Terrence is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a BS in Business Administration. He has earned his RPA (Retirement Plans Associate) through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), aware of clients’ retirement, investment, educational funding, and estate planning needs.
